Nespresso Vertuo Machines offer an unmatched combination of convenience, practicality, and sophisticated design. A reliable machine for espresso lovers who want espresso-style coffee at the push of a button.

Quick Navigation

With some modern Nespresso Vertuo models, you can make coffee on your smartphone or tablet using the Nespresso Vertuo app.

We should first understand the categories of Nespresso machines before learning how to use a Nespresso Vertuo Machine.

There are two lines of Nespresso Vertuo machines: Nespresso OriginalLine (classic) and Nespresso VertuoLine. Despite some slight differences, the machines work in essentially the same way.

Nespresso has different lines of coffee capsules, so when buying Nespresso pods, you need to know whether your machine is original or vertuo.

Why we need to clean a Nespresso Vertuo Machine

Tank for holding water

This holds fresh water for making coffee.

Lever or Head

You can open the pod holder with the lever. Vertuoline machines have heads that lift to reveal their pod sections. In addition, the head or lever of the wastebasket can be lifted to empty the wastebasket.

Holder for capsules

This holds a Nespresso capsule.

Button controls

Nespresso classic machines often have a Lungo and a separate espresso button. The VertuoLine machine has a button to automatically detect the capsule size and extract the appropriate cup size.

Drop trays

Among older Nespresso machines, the Citi Z has two drip trays. Both trays are removable. An adjustable drip tray on some newer machines, including the Vertuo Line and some original lines.

Garbage basket

The Nespresso machine automatically throws used capsules into the built-in trash when you lift the handle/head. Baskets of used capsules are usually found next to the machine.

How to use a Nespresso Vertuo Machine?

Before using the Nespresso Vertuo Machine, it is essential to clean the machine. Rinse inside and out to make sure everything is clean and tidy. It can be doubled by brewing several batches of hot water in the machine. This helps clean the system.

Rinsing the pod would also be helpful. After rinsing the tank, fill it almost to the top with clean water (tap water is sufficient). Connect the tank to the machine’s back.

Using the Vertuo model, you must lock your head in the palace according to their caffeine levels before this rinsing process. After rinsing the coffee maker, place the mug on the tray, close the lid and turn the lever to the locked position. Press the button on the head three times in succession to quickly start the cleaning and rinsing cycle. It takes 2-5 minutes for the machine to complete its cleaning.

Then connect the machine. Press the button labeled “Lungo.” This will turn on the machine. Some lights flash when heating the water, and these lights glow well when Nespresso is ready to make coffee.

After the Nespresso is fully warmed, you can place a large mug (the perfect size for a travel mug) on the tray in front of the Nespresso to catch the hot water.

Then press the button labeled “Lungo” again to rinse the machine again. After the first brewing cycle, three more cycles must be performed to wash it off. When the mug has cooled, empty the hot water from the cup.

The machine will be clean, and you can move on to the fun part of brewing espresso. Start by checking the water tank in your Nespresso machine. Is it full? Add at least half a cup of water. You don’t want to run out of water when brewing espresso, so always have extra water in the water tank.

For the Vertuo machine, press the “On” button. If you still don’t know how to open your Nespresso machine, remember that it’s usually a cup-like display machine. When the light stays on, the device is ready for use.

Then place the glass in the Nespresso machine. Place this on the front tray. Models with an adjustable drip tray make it easy to move a small espresso cup closer to where hot beverages are dispensed, while others place the mug a little farther from the drip tray. In any case, set the coffee cup to the perfect position before brewing.

Next, you need to insert the Nespresso pod. On the Nespresso Vertuo Machine, turn the handle on the head and lift it open to unlock the coffee machine. Insert the capsule into the port.

The original machine makes this very simple. This is because it only fits in one direction (the device shows how).

However, with the Vertuo coffee machine, you have to be a little careful. The dome side should face down. To start brewing on the original machine, press the lever or close the Vertuo lid and slide the lever to the locked position.

After you create espresso or lungo, the machine will automatically stop brewing, and after a few minutes, it will shut off itself.
